Family members who were walking yesterday (Sunday) in the river in the valley area encountered an injured deer in the middle of the route.

"We were walking in Nahal Talchid and on the way we suddenly met a deer," says the father, Nimrod Nahardea.

"I climbed a ladder on the track. When I got to the top I saw it, eye for an eye. It looked weak," he said.

Nimrod, who was traveling with his wife Meital and his children Uriah and Zohar, saw his bloated stomach and thought it was a deer preparing for birth.

He said, "I called the inspector of the Nature and Parks Authority, Dotan Harush, whom I know personally."

At the same time, another report was received from a citizen who was in the area about an injured deer.

Noam Kidron: "We walked in Nahal Piran and Nahal Talchid. At the beginning of the route we met a couple of hikers who said that there was an injured deer at the end of the route - they said it was a pregnant female.

"After about a quarter of an hour, we saw the deer that looked apathetic but still showed signs of life. Unfortunately there was no absorption, and only near the road I was able to call the inspector of the Nature and Parks Authority."

The inspector arrived at the scene.

He evacuated the deer together with members of the Nahardea family to a car - and from there to the Wildlife Hospital of the Nature and Parks Authority and the safari for medical treatment.

The inspector thanked them for their vigilance and reporting.

If you have seen an injured animal or need help, report it to the Nature and Parks Authority hotline at * 3639.
