The governor of the department of Alta Verapaz, Guatemala, Romel Véliz Castro, tells CNN that the Quejá community was declared a cemetery after being buried by the collapse of a hill.

This happened as a result of the rains and winds left by tropical storm Eta as it passed through Guatemalan territory.

Véliz Castro described the situation as "catastrophic" and said that the government is working to reach remote communities that are severely affected.
