Cuban José Abreu was awarded as the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the season in the American League of the Major Leagues, of the season that just ended.

Visibly moved Abreu is the third Cuban in history to win this award, after Zoilo Versalles in 1965 and José Canseco in 1988.
