Argentine coach Alejandro Sabella dies at 66

Alejandro Sabella, former technical director of the Argentine soccer team died this Tuesday, confirmed the Argentine Soccer Association (AFA) and the South American Soccer Confederation (Conmebol).

As reported by the ICBA Instituto Cardiovascular in a statement, Sabella had been hospitalized since November 25 due to a diagnosis of dilated heart disease secondary to coronary heart disease and long-standing cardiotoxicity.

"The authorities and staff of the ICBA Instituto Cardiovascular, accompany their family and friends in this painful moment," concluded the note.

Sabella was the technical director of the national team at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, in which Argentina reached the final that it lost against Germany.
