The U.S. Treasury Department announced a new round of sanctions on December 8, including the Macau gangster "Beng Yaju" (formerly known as Yin Guoju) and three related companies or organizations.
The US stated that the round of sanctions is aimed at individuals involved in corruption and their networks across many countries in Africa and Asia.
According to the U.S. Treasury Department, this round of sanctions is implemented in accordance with the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act (Global Magnitsky Act).
The sanctions list shows that there are three new individuals under sanctions, including KOI, Wan Kuok, whom the US calls "Broken Tooth", and the other two individuals are a Kyrgyzstan and a Liberian ( Liberia) people.
There are also 3 sanctioned companies or organizations on the list, including the East American Investment Group Co., Ltd. based in Hong Kong, the Palau China Hung-Mun Cultural Association based in Palau, and the World Hongmen Historical and Cultural Association based in Cambodia , The US listed these three companies as having ties to "Beng Yaju."
