Rich Countries Have Purchased Enough Doses Of Covid-19 Vaccines To Immunize Their Populations Three Times As Fast, People's Say | World | CNN

Rich countries have bought enough doses of COVID-19 vaccines to immunize their populations three times faster, says the People's Vaccine Alliance. Canada bought enough vaccines to immunize its citizens up to 5 times. On the other hand, in the 67 poorest countries in the world, only 1 in 10 people can expect to receive the Covid-19 vaccine by the end of 2021, according to that international vaccine watchdog. Because of this, many developing countries are falling behind in the global race to end the coronavirus pandemic. “This does not have to be a competition between rich and poor countries if we solve the supply problem. And to do that we need drug companies to share their vaccine science, ”says Anna Marriot, Oxfam's political manager for health. Michael Roa has the report.
