Herzliya, Hod Hasharon and Ramat Hasharon in a joint appeal to the district committee: to stop the massive construction planning on the contaminated land of the IMI plant. The alternative proposal: to establish a metropolitan park instead of an IMI city.

The plan presented includes about 35,000 housing units between Road 5 in the south, Herzliya in the north, Ramat Hasharon in the west and Hod Hasharon in the east.

According to the mayors, the plan does not include suitable infrastructure, drainage and sewage solutions and a transportation solution for the residents of the neighborhoods.

The three mayors demand that the planning be stopped immediately, that a land pollution survey be promoted, followed by joint planning, for the establishment of a park that will preserve the values of nature and green areas.

Avi Gruber, Mayor of Ramat Hasharon: "We have one of the last wild natural areas in the Sharon area, and we must preserve it for the benefit of the residents and for the benefit of future generations. Millions of citizens expect us to make a historic move to preserve the pristine landscape."

Moshe Fadlon, Mayor of Herzliya: "Once again we see rough and brutal planning, with the number of housing units at the forefront of the planners' minds that can be loaded on the ground, while completely ignoring the pollution and the need for green creation."

The mayor of Hod Hasharon, Amir Kochavi: "We will work for a courageous decision, which will disperse the construction areas in the existing development areas and create a metropolitan park for the benefit of all residents.
