Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov assured that the new US sanctions against him and a number of Chechen entities will not affect the country.
Sputnik reported that Kadyrov described the new US sanctions via Telegram as "stupid and will not affect the Chechen Republic in any way," noting that these sanctions are "not surprising."
Kadyrov also ridiculed the British sanctions against Chechen officials, referring to Britain's "subordination" to the United States.
The United States recently imposed sanctions on a number of Chechen officials, including Kadyrov's advisor for security affairs, Daniel Martynov, deputy head of the Chechen government, Vahid Asmayev, and Kadyrov's personal representative Ziad Sebsby.
