Corona pandemic in Germany: Details on Covid-19 vaccinations in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria
Update from December 10th, 5.45 p.m.:
In
Germany
, many politicians, citizens and doctors are longingly waiting for the vaccine against the insidious
corona virus
.
This year there will probably be nothing with large-scale
Covid-19 vaccinations
, at least not in the south of the republic.
The
Baden-Württemberg state government in Stuttgart
no longer expects the first delivery of the vaccine before Christmas.
The first deliveries from the federal government are expected this year, but not before Christmas, confirmed a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Social Affairs when asked by the
German Press Agency (dpa)
.
“The signals are more towards the end of the month,” she said.
However, the
central vaccination centers
would be ready by December 15, according to plan, in order to be able to start vaccinating.
On the basis of a calculation by the so-called Königsteiner key,
Baden-Württemberg
reckons with a good 600,000 vaccine doses in a first tranche.
In
Bavaria, however
, the
corona vaccinations could start
on January 5th.
This is reported by
Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR)
and based on an internal schedule of the Bavarian Ministry of Health.
The delivery of the
vaccine from the manufacturer Biontech / Pfizer
could therefore begin on January 2, 2021.
According to the paper, interim storage is planned at eight deep-freeze locations, from where logisticians
would deliver
the
corona vaccines
to the
central vaccination centers
.

Update from December 10, 2:28 p.m.:
The corona numbers are increasing continuously.
That is why
Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder
wants to
pull the emergency brake
throughout
Germany
at Christmas too
.
Söder calls for a tough lockdown until at least January 10th.
"
Nationwide
exit restrictions
,
night curfews
in hotspots, business closings, company holidays and extended school holidays everywhere," argued the Bavarian state father to the
dpa
.
Corona in Germany: Bavaria's Prime Minister Söder wants a tough lockdown nationwide
The
CSU boss also
outlined
a precise
period
for the
hard lockdown
: “That must
apply
until January 10th
- but as long as necessary.” Like his Berlin colleague Michael Müller, Söder sees a need for action to implement the hard lockdown promptly.
Söder continues: “We have to shut down public life.
That means, all shops too,
apart from those for everyday necessities like groceries
.
It is necessary that we then have exit restrictions everywhere in Germany and curfews in hotspots during the night.
Everyone
should just
stay at home
during this time
. "
The health of Berliners is the most important thing: We will therefore decide in the Senate on Tuesday to shut down retail.

Corona in Germany - Berlin's Governing Mayor Müller: "How many deaths is a shopping experience worth to us?"
Update from December 10th, 12.45 p.m.:

implement
a
hard lockdown
before
Christmas
in the fight against the
corona pandemic
.

spoke out in
favor of
this
in the Berlin House of Representatives on Thursday.
“We'll have to
shut down retail
, including
by January 10th
.
There is no other way.
We will stay with the five contacts, ”announced Müller.
“The health of Berliners is more important to me than a shopping experience.” When the hard lockdown should begin is still open.
December 21st and 23rd
are circulating
as possible starting days.
In his speech, Müller warned in
stark words
to set the right priorities.
“How many dead is a shopping experience worth to us?
How many deaths do we want to accept for a nice visit to a restaurant, for a candlelight dinner?
How many dead for a movie?
I want to hear specifically from those who are constantly criticizing. "

RKI is for it
Update from December 10th, 12.20 p.m.:
The
Christmas holidays
are just
around the corner
.
After initially
easing
the
corona measures
via the
Holidays was decided by the country chiefs,
some
federal states
want to
take them back.
The President of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) also spoke out clearly against loosening.
"I think the important measure is to
really prevent the easing from coming over Christmas,
" said
Lothar Wieler
on Thursday in Berlin.
He pointed out that such loosening would make the infection process
dynamic
that is
difficult to control
.
