Security officials: Sinwar has lowered the threshold for promoting a POW and missing person deal
According to the sources, the Hamas leader in Gaza is willing to be flexible about the conditions he has set for years for the realization of the deal to exchange security prisoners with the bodies of soldiers.
The change in policy is probably due to the fear of the spread of the corona in Gaza, and the desire for Israeli assistance.
"This is the best chance for years to advance the issue"

Security sources said today (Friday) that Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, had lowered the threshold conditions to advance a POW and missing persons deal.
According to the sources, Sinwar is ready to be flexible about the conditions it has set for years for an exchange deal between security prisoners and the bodies of soldiers Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul.
"There is a much better chance here for years of promoting a deal mediated by Egypt," said one of them.
Sources estimate that Hamas' compromise in the negotiation process stems from the leadership's huge fear of the corona spreading.
"They understand that the only country that can help them against the corona is Israel and they should thaw relations, move forward in the POW and missing persons deal. Then it will be easier to help them in other areas such as infrastructure, economy and workers leaving for Israel," they explained.

The IDF estimates that there has apparently been an understanding among the Hamas leadership that without progress on the issue of prisoners and missing persons, there will be no progress on projects and improved Palestinian quality of life in the Gaza Strip.
Security officials recently said that "a new atmosphere has been created.
Perhaps this is in view of the huge concern about the spread of the corona in the Gaza Strip, which lacks medical personnel and appropriate equipment.
"Perhaps the understanding has finally sunk in Hamas that there is no Israeli public legitimacy today to release prisoners with blood on their hands, but on the other hand there is a real intention and desire on the Israeli side to move forward in the process."
Israel is waiting for their bodies to be returned.

Other security sources argued that the possibility of the virus being infected by older security prisoners with background illnesses in Israeli prisons could not be ruled out, raising the level of pressure on Hamas.
In this scenario, appreciate Israel, could very well allow Hamas leader Yehia Sinwar, applied himself in Corona, excuse the top leadership and the Palestinian street negotiations on the subject.
Elements of the defense establishment confirmed that created new prospects for progress between the parties regarding prisoners and missing persons. The message he insisted that the Minister of Defense Bnei Gantz has been very clear so far: without progress on the issue of prisoners and missing persons there will be no progress in the big projects. Climbed with unreasonable demands to open negotiations.
