Police are investigating a suspicion that the young man suspected of murdering his mother on Friday night received assistance from a family member or that one of his family members knew in advance about the act, without reporting or preventing him.

At the end of the interrogation of the family members, the police said that nothing had been found against them.

It should be noted that this is a common procedure in a murder investigation, in which the police are not satisfied with only investigating the suspect but checking his surroundings.

In the above case, the young man claimed that he had planned the act and that he had previously suffered abuse from his mother. On Saturday, a day after the murder, the police will question the suspect's father, with whom he lives, as well as his sister, who was not home at the time of the murder.

Police decided yesterday (Wednesday) to summon the divorcee, the young man's father, for questioning, and investigated the suspicion that he may have known about his son's intention to murder the mother of the family.

According to police, at the end of the investigation no evidence was found linking the father to his son's actions and he was released on his way.

Meanwhile, the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion today extended the suspect's detention by seven days, and upheld the ban on publishing his name and various identifying details of him.

At a previous hearing held for the suspect, he was sent for a psychiatric examination.

According to the police, no unequivocal opinion was received today regarding his mental condition and his ability to stand trial.

It should be noted that the family members stated that he was treated and even received medication.

It should be added that the police have not yet unequivocally determined what was the motive for the murder, and that they rely on the suspect's confession.

A suspicion was also examined that if the neighbors had not reported the incident, the suspect might have tried to conceal evidence and even the body so that the murder would not be discovered.

As you may recall, the young man went out to the neighbors who heard the mother's screams and claimed that his sister was playing a video of shouting on his cellphone.

But the nurse was not home at the time of the murder.

The young man even called the police in an attempt to cancel the neighbors' call, but the police had already managed to get to the apartment.

Such turned to the young man, he claimed that there was nothing - but their insistence on entering the house led to the discovery of the mother's body.
