Colombia has a vaccination plan in place against covid-19 and Venezuelans who have an irregular immigration status in that country are not included. This was pointed out to CNN by President Iván Duque, who explained that it is not about meanness towards migrants but rather a problem of the capacity of the health system and resources. The president also said that offering the vaccine to all migrants could unleash a migratory wave of Venezuelans who want to be vaccinated, putting at risk the supply of vaccines for Colombians themselves.
