philia,

agape,
Christian love par excellence, which the word charity struggles to translate. .
Agape
has two fundamental traits: first, unlike
Eros,
it is love which gives more than it takes, love which is not of possession or of jealousy, but of love. gratuity and benevolence;
but it is also love which gives way to the other, which withdraws if necessary to let it exist.
