Not every day one hears in Georgia - one of the southern states with a harsh background of racism, slavery and discrimination - such strong support for the Republican Party.

The party, which is perceived in the American media as white and hates minorities, receives an original warm hug from Russell, a 49-year-old man who grew up all his life in the country.

I meet him at the Waffle House (a sort of "pancake house") in Atlanta and immediately ask what he thinks of the election that will decide the fate of Georgia's two seats in the Senate - and probably also the degree of success of the Biden administration in the coming years.

"I vote for Republicans - all the way!"

That's what Russell tells me.

"How can that be, we're in Georgia?" I ask.

For Russell the choice is natural: Republicans are helping the common citizen take advantage of opportunities to climb up and advance, and Democrats are making him go back and be busy all day using the tax money to no avail.

"Republicans and I have been going side by side since the days of President Ronald Reagan, Republicans always give the money to the people; they make sure the taxpayer's money eventually goes back into the citizen's pocket. When Democrats rule, everyone goes bankrupt, and all small businesses have a hard time finishing it "This month. Small businesses employ almost all Americans. President Trump is the first in my life to provide all the opportunities for all the immigrants who came to America, and for all the low-income blacks and whites."

"Was President Trump a good president?"

IM asking.

His answer is no less decisive than the previous answers, and only shows so far how America seen through the media is not necessarily what we see on the ground.

The terrain loves Trump, the ordinary citizen is in love with what Trump has done to the economy over the past four years, and he knows that even if Trump is not the pinnacle of perfection and manners, he knows how to deliver the goods.

"He's the best president we've had since Roosevelt, and remember the Republicans fought in the Civil War to free the slaves in this country."
