The head of the Iranian Islamic Shura Council, Muhammad Baqir Qalibaf, confirmed that the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Forces and their companions, is clear evidence of systematic state terrorism and a flagrant violation of state sovereignty.
Qalibaf condemned in a message he addressed today on the occasion of the first anniversary of the assassination of Soleimani to a group of regional and international parliaments, the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Secretary-General of the Union of Asian and Islamic Parliaments and the Secretary-General of the United Nations condemning the terrorist crime committed by the US administration, stressing the need to strengthen the efforts of parliaments of the world and the international community in combating Terror.
Qalibaf explained that this terrorist act has seriously damaged the efforts of the international community in combating terrorism, the rule of law in international relations and the security of the region, and exposing international peace and security to grave danger.
