Hours before the tough lockdown was announced in Berlin, day trippers from the state capital conquered Munich's local mountains again.
At Brauneck near Lenggries they had a dream day above the clouds.

Visitor parking spaces quite full
Despite all the debates and hostility from some angry Oberlanders, day trippers from the state capital once again conquered Munich's local mountains on the day before Dreikönig.
In Lenggries-Wegscheid, the visitor parking spaces were quite full, including many cars with Munich license plates.
The parking fee of five euros was collected at the driveway.
Safety measures observed in the vast majority of cases
Although there was already a lot going on on the toboggan slopes in the valley, there were hardly any violations of the safety measures.
Most of the day trippers paid attention to their distances and avoided standing in groups.
There were drinks to take away at several huts, and here too, the corona rules were respected in the vast majority of cases.
Glorious sun over the clouds
While a cloud cover near the valley tended to make the weather conditions cloudy, a number of ski tourers enjoyed the wonderful winter sun and great panoramic views of the mountain peaks far into Austria up on the Brauneck.
There were also numerous families among the tourers, some even with children of primary school age.
Ascent icy in places, valley run neat
The snow conditions on the 1555 meter high Brauneck high above the Isar are poor, however, the ascent track for ski tourers is in places bored and icy, especially in the last part of the ascent through the forest and on the summit slope.
The valley run - a family run when skiing is normal - down to Wegscheid is in good condition thanks to the good basic snowmaking.
Only in places do a few stones look out of the slope.
However, it is not secured and is not controlled.
Accusation: day trippers selfish
Critics point out that in the event of an injury, ski tourers put the rescue services and above all the hospital staff under unnecessary pressure.
This is selfish in times of a pandemic, so the accusation to the trippers from Munich.
