Corona in Lower Saxony: when do lockdown rules apply?
The new
Corona regulation
with the lockdown rules in Lower Saxony will take effect on Sunday, January 10th, 2021, and will initially apply until January 31st, 2021.
The new
quarantine regulation for
travelers returning will apply from Monday, January 11th, 2021.
Anyone who
enters
Lower Saxony
and has stayed in a foreign risk area in the past ten days must either show a
corona test that is
no more than 48 hours old
or be tested immediately after entry.
Even if the test turns out negative, the person has to
go
straight to
quarantine
- for ten days.
This can be ended after five days at the earliest.
However, a second negative
corona test must
be available for this.
The state government reported on Friday, January 8th, 2021.
In addition, people who have already had a
Covid 19 infection
or two vaccinations are not exempted from the quarantine obligation.
The corona vaccinations in Lower Saxony have now started.
Appointments for the vaccination centers will start at the end of January.

Corona in Lower Saxony: What contact restrictions apply?
According to the amended Corona regulation of the state of
Lower Saxony
, you can
only meet with your own household and another person from another household,
both in
public and in private
.
Household means a permanent community of people living together.
"Children of separated parents form a common household with both parents," says a press release.
Corona pandemic in Lower Saxony: what applies to schools and daycare centers?
There are also some new corona rules for schools.
For
primary schools
distance learning applies in the first week after the holidays.
Thereafter, the lessons will continue until the end of the semester in an alternating model.
As reported by the German Press Agency (dpa), there is a
complete transition to distance learning in
secondary schools
.
The same applies to vocational schools in Lower Saxony.
In the
Abitur and final
classes, lessons take place in an alternating model with divided classes.
There is also
emergency care
for students in grades 1 to 6
.
In day care centers there is also emergency care with up to 50 percent of the group size, according to dpa.
This can be used by parents who work in relevant professions and therefore cannot ensure care.
The private care of children in small groups from several different households is still allowed.
Corona in Lower Saxony: How are the 15 kilometer rules implemented?
In numerous federal states,
if the
incidence is 7 days or
more, the range of motion should be limited to 15 kilometers around the place of residence.
Lower Saxony
is taking a different path here and is freeing the respective municipalities to introduce this step.

better evaluate
the
corona situation
on site and assess the necessity of the
15-kilometer rule

In order not to give preference to anyone, the starting point in
Lower Saxony is
not the place of residence, but the address.
Exceptions to the restriction of the range of motion only apply if there is a valid reason, such as work.
Coronavirus in Lower Saxony: Can the retail trade open again?
Numerous shops in
Lower Saxony
have to
remain closed
due to the ambiguous
corona infection
situation.
This also applies to gastronomy.
Pick-up and delivery services are
exempt
from the
lockdown rule
.
Body-hugging services such as hairdressing salons, cosmetic studios, tattoo studios and similar businesses are also not allowed to open.
Medically necessary treatments, such as physiotherapy or medical foot care, remain possible.
