"After many sunny days, the forecasters were precise and in the last hour it began to snow on the line posted at the summit of Mount Hermon at an altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level," said Miki Inbar, a spokeswoman for the Hermon site.
"The temperature is currently at 0 degrees. The expectation for the continuation of the system is that the snow will reach the upper level at the site in the afternoon, and there is a chance that it will also reach the lower level at the beginning of next week."
The site expressed regret at the site closure at this time due to corona restrictions.
"The current closure and the fact that the Hermon site has not yet received approval in principle for its opening, similar to the parks and national parks, obscure the joy with the arrival of the snow," the spokeswoman added.
