The designated US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, said in a Senate hearing today (Tuesday) that the Joe Biden administration will consult with Israel and the Gulf states before the United States returns to the nuclear deal with Iran.
"When the president takes office, we will see what Iran does and then we will decide how to move forward," he said.

He said President-elect Joe Biden was committed to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
"Iran as a nuclear state or even as a nuclear threshold state will be even more dangerous than it is now. Therefore there is an urgent responsibility to do everything to prevent Iran from even approaching the capability to acquire nuclear weapons," Blinken said.
