We have already learned that it is recommended to separate colors and give up fabric softener when washing towels, but it turns out that these tips are not good enough to keep the towels soft, airy and pleasant to the touch over time.
Towel designer Lucy Ackroyd, from the "Christie" brand, shared her effective towels for washing towels that will help you both maintain their softness over time and restore them to their former state in case they become rough and stiff - so see and teach.

The question that ignited a storm: How do you fold your towels?
A small change in the way you wash will make your old, stiff towels soft and comfortable
The system that helps teachers help students
Do not overload the washing machine
Lucy recommends not overloading the washing machine especially when it comes to towels.
She says the most common mistake is to wash a large amount of towels together after a large pile collects in the laundry basket.
She said: "Towels need breathing space. The space in the machine will allow them to shake and rinse well. If you try to load, you will create a lump of cumbersome towels that will accumulate moisture along their entire length, which will lead to rough and stiff towels."

Do concentrated towel washing
Although she does not recommend loading the machine, she does think that it is advisable to separate the towels from the other items intended for washing in order to prevent the transfer of fibers from other clothes to the towels.

Wash at 40 degrees.
No 60
Lucy recommends washing at low temperatures.
She said: "Although you may think you are washing your towels more efficiently when you run a machine on a high temperature, you are wrong that in the long run it may damage them. Wash the towels at 40 degrees because any higher temperature can cause them to wear out." .
However, she does rarely recommend washing towels at 60 degrees to remove oils and bacteria that may accumulate, "not regularly but infrequently it is fine and even recommended."
Shake the towels before and after washing
Lucy recommends shaking the towels before and after washing because she says it helps open the fibers and allows the detergent to sink into the towel pores.
She said: "Shake them well, both before and after washing. Shaking after washing will loosen the fibers again and make the towel velvety and more pleasant."

Do not dry towels on the radiator
In the winter we tend to look for effective ways to dry towels, however Lucy warns that drying them on the radiator is a mistake for beginners.
She said: "It will lead to a rough finish, just what you are trying to avoid."
Instead it recommends a dryer or drying in the open air.
"Why do you even need to wash towels?"
Many people wonder why towels should be washed if they also so dry our clean body after the shower.
The reason is simple: each time you use a towel you remove a layer of dead skin cells (a type of peel to your body).
Besides, damp towels serve as fertile ground for bacteria.
It is therefore advisable to wash towels every two days, although eye-catching if you wash every three.
