Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh confirmed that French and other Western weapons are the main cause of insecurity in the region.
The Iranian news agency "IRNA" quoted Khatib Zadeh as saying, commenting on the recent statements of French President Emmanuel Macron about negotiating with Iran over its nuclear program that French weapons, along with other Western weapons, are not only the reason behind the mass massacres and the death of thousands of Yemenis, but the main element of insecurity. In the region, pointing out that without stopping the vast exports of French, British and American weapons and other countries, stability and tranquility cannot be expected in this sensitive region.
Khatib Zadeh also called on the French President to "exercise restraint and avoid hasty and ill-considered situations," stressing that the comprehensive joint action plan is an international multilateral agreement that was ratified through Resolution 2231 of the UN Security Council.
Khatibzadeh stressed that this plan is "completely non-negotiable, and its parties are certain and cannot be changed," noting that reviving and maintaining the comprehensive joint action plan requires America to return to the nuclear agreement and lift all the embargoes, including the embargo related to the agreement or otherwise. Imposed during the era of former US President Donald Trump.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman called on France to reconsider its policies in the region.
It is reported that French President Emmanuel Macron said in a previous statement that negotiations with Iran would be "difficult", suggesting that Saudi Arabia be included in these negotiations on the nuclear deal.
