Undertaker in Manaus: "The speed with which the virus is spreading is amazing"

After the Brazilian Amazon metropolis of Manaus was hit hard by a second wave of Covid-19, the city's health system collapsed.
Dozens of corona patients have suffocated in the past few days because oxygen has become scarce in the hospitals.
Ambulances stand still because their transport stretchers are needed in the hospital wards.
And nobody knows how many patients die at home because the beds in the intensive care units are full.
While scientists are puzzling to what extent the outbreak is related to a dangerous mutation of the Sars-Cov-2 virus, the authorities are determining whether the Minister of Health is to be blamed for a logistical failure.

The day the oxygen ran out, she was doing her duty at Getúlio Vargas University Hospital.
