The number of officially registered infections with the Coronavirus through PCR swabs is witnessing a decrease, according to what is shown by reading the announced data of the Ministry of Health, as the number of infections recorded since the middle of this month of January until today recorded a decrease compared to the numbers recorded from the beginning of the month until the middle of the month, and the number of infected people since the beginning of the month Up to the fifteenth of it, 1508 injuries compared to 1238 injuries recorded in the second 15 days of the same month, which indicates a decrease in the number of registered cases of 270 injuries.

The Director of Preparedness and Emergency at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Tawfiq Hassaba, said in a statement to SANA today that a number of hospitals have closed the additional isolation departments that were opened during the beginning of the peak of the spread of the virus on the 17th of last November and kept the basic isolation section in each hospital.

They renewed the two accounts calling for strict adherence to virus prevention measures in terms of wearing the muzzle and spatial distancing in public places and means of transportation to ensure the continuation of the decline in the incidence of the virus and break the cycle of infection because the decrease in numbers is not a sufficient indicator to ensure that the number of infections does not increase again.

In a similar statement, the director of the General Authority of Ibn Al-Nafees Hospital, Dr. Nizar Ibrahim, indicated that there was a significant decrease in the number of hospital auditors from suspected cases of infection with the Coronavirus by about 50 percent, as the number of auditors during the first half of this month ranged between 30 and 35 patients between a suspected and confirmed infection, and then decreased within The second half of this month, to reach 17 suspected and proven cases.

According to Dr. Ibrahim, there are currently 6 patients in the intensive care unit dedicated to Corona cases in the hospital, of whom 2 are positive according to the PCR test, while the rest of the cases await the result of the test, and in the section devoted to patients of cases that do not need intensive care, there are currently 11 patients, 2 of whom are positive for PCR while waiting The rest is the result of the test.

Dr. Ibrahim confirmed that the hospital is fully prepared to receive any case, as it has allocated since last March a special section to receive suspected cases of corona with a capacity of 60 beds and intensive care rooms with a capacity of 17 beds, explaining that the hospital provides diagnostic services for suspected cases of corona through simple x-rays and CT images that show infection by 90% of the patients are provided with the appropriate treatment pending the results of the PCR test to detect corona, and in the event that the result is positive, patients are sent for treatment in designated hospitals, and critical cases are kept in intensive care rooms.
