This involves reinforcing the staff of the General Directorate of Public Finances in charge of the increasingly heavy management of the Fund.

Faced with the continuing health crisis, the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, announced the recruitment of 250 contract workers to strengthen the staff of the Directorate General of Public Finances (DGFiP) in charge of increasingly heavy management of the Solidarity Fund.

Created last March to support VSEs and professionals with assistance of up to 1,500 euros per month, the system has since been radically transformed, now granting much higher subsidies to companies of all sizes affected by the crisis.

In 2020, 14 billion euros in aid were paid out.

And, today, around fifty DGFiP agents now manage aid requests of significant amounts.

"

When we open the possibility of declaring yourself on January 15 [for a company], each day we have more than 100,000 files arriving, and from 30,000 euros, we carry out checks, so that makes the procedure cumbersome

", admitted Bruno Le Mayor Monday, at the microphone of RTL.

With these new temporary recruitments, the tenant of Bercy thus hopes to speed up the processing of aid requested under this fund which is constantly being modified, and is increasingly criticized.

"

Initially very simple, the fund has indeed become more complex to take account of the reality on the ground.

Then, we try to be pragmatism,

These 250 contract workers will be mobilized to help DGFiP services throughout the territory.

On the union side, discontent remains strong nonetheless.

“The solidarity fund is under the supervision of the DGFiP, already battered for years and which will lose another 2,000 positions in 2021 under the finance law.

The means were sorely lacking before and it will not get better, ”blasted AFP Anne Guyot-Welke, national secretary of Solidaires-Public Finances.
