The whole province of Perugia and six small towns in the Ternano area will be in the red zone from next Monday. This is foreseen by an order that the president of the Umbria Region, Donatella Tesei, is preparing to sign. (HANDLE)

    The president illustrated the provision to all the mayors in a long meeting that ended in the evening.


    Total closure of nurseries and nurseries is also expected.


    The provisions will be valid for two weeks. 

The rest of the Umbria region is instead in the orange band. In Umbria, 18 cases of the English variant of the Sars-Cov-2 virus and 12 of the Brazilian one were identified, while analyzes are underway on other samples. Overall, 42 samples were sent to the Higher Institute of Health. The Brazilian variant occurs mainly in hospitals, while the English one is found mainly in the territory, particularly in the area between Bastia Umbra, Perugino and Trasimeno. Furthermore - according to the ISS-Ministry of Health Monitoring data, as of February 3, 2021 relating to the week January 25-January 31 2021 - the region recorded the highest data in Italy relating to the Rt index (1.18). The data of the last 24 hours meanwhile record a jump in hospitalized: according to the data of the Region updated to 6 February, there are 458, fifteen more than yesterday, of which 70 (four more) in intensive care. There are 351 new infections. Eight other deaths have been reported, after ten yesterday (831 in all). (HANDLE).
