Valentine's Day is also under the sign of the corona pandemic.

And yet local shops for lovers have come up with a lot.

Fürstenfeldbruck -

bakers, florists and landlords in the district have come up with a lot so that lovers can bring romance home.

There may be a new group of customers in the Corona year.

“I hope that a lot of customers will come by,” says Ulrike Herler.

Valentine's Day in the corona pandemic: nurseries are allowed to open despite lockdown

The owner of the flower island in Fürstenfeldbruck reckons that the somewhat cumbersome procedure of ordering and picking up customers on Sunday, February 14th, will not prevent them from following the romantic tradition and giving something to a loved one.

According to corona regulations from the ministry, she is allowed to open her shop for four hours on Sunday for the pick-up service.

"For those in love there are roses and colorful bouquets."

In Emmering and Groebenzell, flowers can be ordered and picked up for loved ones in Susanne Beck's branches.

The owner even offers an online shop.

But not only lovers are giving away flowers this year.

"There are also often flower orders for people who have not been seen for a long time because of Corona," says master florist Susanne Beck.

The discounters, who also offer bouquets of flowers, are of course a lot of competition.

“But that can't be changed.” The Gröbenzellerin hopes that her customers will appreciate hand-tied and fresh bouquets.

Valentine's Day in lockdown: flowers instead of personal meetings, Valentine's donuts in heart shape

Perfumeries and gift shops need to stay in lockdown though.

But you can also find something for Valentine's Day in supermarkets.

In the AEZ branch in the Fürstenfeldbruck district of Buchenau, for example, a local confectionery is setting up a special stand with Valentine's Day offers, says managing director Udo Klotz.

Bakery boss Werner Nau knows that there are many people with a sweet tooth among the romantics.

His son and junior boss Raphael created chocolates especially for the day of lovers.

“And the bakery has pretzels and donuts in the shape of a heart,” says the 56-year-old from Grunertshofen.

In Mammendorf, bakery owner Thomas Löffler is also offering Valentine's donuts on February 14th, in addition to the normal range.

Especially at breakfast time, he expects more customers this Sunday who want to present their loved ones with a beautifully set breakfast table.

Corona in Bavaria: Romantic dinner for Valentine's Day - despite lockdown

And the district residents don't have to do without a romantic lunch or a Valentine's dinner.

The hosts made sure of that and put together several courses.

“It is well known that love goes through the stomach,” says Johanna Eulenlehner from the Zum Haderecker inn in Olching.

She runs the kitchen together with her father Ernst Sirtl.

In recent years, more and more couples have come to the pub on Valentine's Day who want to treat themselves to something on this special day.

For these guests, Eulenlehner and her team are offering a “hearty menu” including a bottle of sparkling wine this year. “We have hired a few more helpers for Valentine's Day,” says Johanna Eulenlehner.

Romantic dinner to go: Valentine's Day in the corona pandemic

Paula Maria Reisek from Gasthaus Gröbenzell, relies on lovers and couples who come by and take the Valentine's menu to go.

For this purpose, she has planned a double occupation in the company for the weekend.

“The tendency is for younger couples to come to us on Valentine's Day.” Probably because Valentine's Day, which originally came from America, is more present for them, says boss Reisek.

Things look completely different at the Dorfwirt in Landsberied.

Young and old come by the owner Florian Droglauer's.

“On Valentine's Day, I mainly expect our regular guests.” For those who want to order and pick up something, he has a first-time campaign this year: a 3-course menu for couples.

The contact restrictions necessary to fight the corona pandemic hit everyone hard, but also seniors in particular.

The neighborhood help Moorenweis has an idea.
