Peiting

- building with wood is all the rage.

Andreas Reßle recognized this a few years ago: The then 23-year-old founded his company HRW-Vollholzwandsystem back in 2009.

But what exactly makes this young company from Peiting so unique?

Optimal insulation effect through high weight

The basis is the solid wood wall system developed and patented by Andreas Reßle and his father Helmut.

"Our thick wood panels consist of three layers, which are connected crosswise, with the middle one having standing air chambers."

And what's so special about it?

Several things: Because the panels are 30 centimeters thick, they are of course relatively heavy.

One square meter weighs around 140 kilograms.

The largest that Reßle produces with his company (3.5 by 15.5 meters) weigh an impressive seven tons.

The high weight achieves an optimal insulating effect.

“More is definitely not possible,” says Reßle and laughs.

The fact that it is a natural raw material, in connection with the air chambers, guarantees every wall a so-called diffusion openness.

“That means that the wall regulates the humidity itself.

If there is too much inside, it gives away, if there is too little inside, it takes it in, ”explains the company boss.

The wall practically “breathes”.

No need for expensive ventilation systems

This in turn has the advantage that no expensive ventilation systems are required in a building of this type.

And no additional layers of plaster either.

“You can just leave the walls as they are.

Inside and outside.

Unless someone wants a change in appearance. "

The possible uses are almost unlimited: Whether in private houses, industrial buildings or in leisure facilities: the smooth surface of the walls means that buildings up to well over three floors are possible.

But that's not all: With his HRW, Andreas Reßle not only focuses on sustainability in the finished building material, but also in the manufacture.

“We source our wood exclusively from the region, from a radius of a maximum of 40 kilometers.

And one hundred percent of the logs supplied are processed: what is left over from the production of the thick wood panels is processed into sawn timber for personal use, solid structural timber or wood chips, and the sawdust produced into briquettes.

This is possible because HRW itself operates a sawmill, a carpentry shop and the ARS production facility.

One pays attention to the ecological footprint

Reßle also pays attention to the ecological footprint with supraregional orders.

If he delivers a house over a further distance, solid wood walls with a thickness of 22 centimeters are used.

“This means we have a third less weight, which saves transport costs and reduces CO2 emissions.” The thermal insulation of these panels is not quite as high as that of the 30 centimeter thick, which is why plaster base panels are attached on site by the respective carpentry company.

“In principle we build like hundreds of years ago.

Modern, but just as sustainable and durable, ”summarizes Andreas Reßle.
