The rehabilitation work of the ancient Bab al-Hadid police station, the guest house in the old Aleppo of the Directorate of Antiquities and Museums, is nearing completion after the damage it suffered as a result of the systematic destruction of the city by the terrorist organizations, and it was restored again under its historical supervision of the movement of passers-by at the entrance to Bab al-Hadid.
Regarding the rehabilitation project, which was implemented seven months ago, at a cost of about 97 million Syrian pounds, Dr. Sakher Olabi, Director of Antiquities and Museums in Aleppo, explained in a statement to SANA correspondent that the restoration of Bab al-Hadid archaeological station comes within the plan of the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums to rehabilitate archaeological sites and buildings affected by terrorism And the return of life to her again and put it at the service in order to preserve and protect it
He pointed out that the building is part of a series of buildings that were attached to the old gates of Aleppo to protect them in the past, and today the Directorate is keen to protect these ancient buildings and rehabilitate them according to technical conditions and international standards for restoration and with local and national hands and expertise.
SANA's camera accompanied the final works of restoring the building in Bab Al-Hadid archaeological site, where the engineer Akram Karah, the supervisor of the implementation of the project from the Department of Engineering in the Directorate of Antiquities and Museums of Aleppo, explained that the restoration study of the building was prepared and work began during the month of September of last year by removing and migrating the rubble from the place and making use of Of the ancient stones in rebuilding what was destroyed from it in parts.
It also included restoring the ceilings to what they were by using traditional twisted and cemented wooden columns, building stone arches for rooms, cleaning the facades with lukewarm water, replacing broken tiles, installing wooden doors and windows and metal fences to return to what was in the old and achieving the optimal investment for it.
