The Russian Defense Center announced that two Su-27 aircraft were intercepted today by a French air force squadron over the Black Sea.
The TASS news agency quoted the center as saying in a statement that the Russian means of controlling airspace over international waters in the Black Sea monitored today an air target approaching the country's borders, and as a result, two Su-27 fighters took off to intercept this target and approached it for a safe distance to show that it was a group of aircraft belonging to the forces. The French Air Force consists of a "KC 135" aerial fuel tanker.
And two Mirage 2000 tactical aircraft.
The statement pointed out that the two Russian fighters returned to their base after these aircraft moved away from the Russian borders and carried out their mission in compliance with international rules on the use of airspace.
