French President Emmanuel Macron called on Western countries to dialogue with Russia, stressing the importance of this dialogue for international security.
"We have to build together a new structure for common security, and the common security structure must include dialogue with Russia," Macron said during the Munich Security Conference today, adding that "this dialogue is necessary for peace in Europe."
Macron considered that "NATO's security policy must be clarified and Europe's responsibility for its security expanded," adding that "Europeans must take on themselves more responsibility for their own security."
It is noteworthy that the Munich Conference on International Security is currently being held by virtue of video technology due to the Coronavirus epidemic.
