Yemeni Children Affair: Government Approves Compensation for Affected Families
As part of the proposal approved about a month before the election, it was determined that the Israeli government would express sorrow for the events that took place in the establishment of the state.

Tonight (Monday), the government approved a draft resolution regarding compensation for families affected in the Yemeni, Eastern and Balkan children affair. As part of the decision, an outline was established according to which the families affected in the framework of the affair from the days of the establishment of the state will be compensated.
Among other things, the ministers determined that the state would officially recognize the affair. As part of the decision, the Israeli government expresses regret over the events that took place in the early days of the state, and acknowledges the suffering of the families whose children were part of this painful affair.
The approved outline regulates the financial compensation for the affected families in the amount of NIS 162 million to be distributed as follows: NIS 150,000 for family members whose child died and his family was not notified of his death in real time, including the circumstances of his death, or the child died and his burial place was not located. .
In addition, compensation in the amount of NIS 200,000 was approved for the injured family members, in the event that the last committee concluded that it was not known what happened to the child.
