The failure of the ultra-fast

left a hole that
Spike Aerospace
is trying to fill.
His bet is on the supersonic business jet Spike S-512, which promises to travel from New York to London in a scant 3 hours and 15 minutes.
It is still in a development stage, but the first images and information of the ship that promises to revolutionize the skies have already been released.
It will initially fly at slightly slower speeds than the iconic Concorde,
reaching Mach 1.6 - about 1,770 kilometers per hour
- when it enters commercial service in 2028.
However, the company, whose headquarters is located in Boston (United States), has plans to increase the speed of the aircraft to Mach 3.2 in the following decade

The aircraft has been under study since 2013, and although the first prototypes are still a long way off, the company is confident that its project will be a success.

“Getting to places faster means more opportunities.
Either riding a camel instead of walking or flying across the Atlantic in six hours instead of spending four weeks on a steamboat.

Regarding sound, he said:
"The Concorde was ridiculously loud.
Most conversations between two people are between 65 and 75 decibels and the noise level found inside most aircraft cabins is around 85 decibels. Not a vacuum cleaner, but not very far. "
It will have no windows and that will make it quiet.
"Our windowless plane will be about 60 decibels, so low that the sound of conversation.
No noise-canceling headphones are required,
" he said.
Part of this noise reduction has been done by designing a windowless cab.
Instead,
something resembling a long computer screen will span the length of the cockpit on both sides
, capable of displaying panoramas or used for presentations.
Spike Aerospace expects to begin testing the S-512 next year.
While the prices of tickets for commercial flights operated by this supersonic aircraft will start out high, Kachoria believes that they will gradually decrease until they reach, approximately,
the cost of a business class seat on a current scheduled flight.
