Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif criticized the stances of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear program and announced his intention to strengthen his country's nuclear arsenal.
"This particular hypocrisy ... he is concerned about Iran's development of its peaceful nuclear program, and at the same time he announces that his country will strengthen its nuclear arsenal," Zarif wrote on Twitter in response to Johnson's statements about Iran's development of its nuclear program.
Zarif continued, saying: Unlike Britain and its allies, Iran believes that nuclear weapons and all weapons of mass destruction are brutalities that must be eliminated, pointing out that Johnson with this "expression of concern" came on the same day in which he announced that his country would increase its nuclear arsenal.
It is noteworthy that the British government recently announced boosting its arsenal of nuclear warheads by more than 40 percent and is seeking to replace its current nuclear warheads with new ones capable of operating during the period of operation of four new submarines that are being manufactured and will enter service after nearly a decade. Maximum to 260 nuclear warheads.
