Uruguay implements a successful vaccination campaign, but it is not enough to stop the new wave of covid-19 cases.
Just last weekend, the country of 3.5 million people surpassed 13,000 active cases after several record days of daily positives.
One of the places with the most infected is in Rivera, on the border with Brazil.
The authorities are concerned about the situation in the area because the number of infections is growing rapidly.
