German President Frank Steinmeier called today for the necessity of developing understandable rules to combat the Corona epidemic in his country.
The German Focus magazine quoted Steinmeier as saying in a speech, "There must be understandable and practical rules to combat the Corona epidemic, and a joint effort must be made against the third wave of the epidemic."
Steinmeier admitted the existence of a "crisis of confidence" and mistakes in testing and vaccination against the epidemic, noting that after 13 months, "slogans of perseverance in the face of the pandemic are no longer relevant."
Earlier today, data from the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases showed that the number of confirmed cases of corona in Germany rose to two million 873 thousand 190 after recording 18,129 new infections, while the number of deaths rose to 76,895 after recording 120 new deaths.
