The Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Latakia today organized 51 rationing controls against a number of violating shops and bakeries.
Samer Al-Sousi, Director of Internal Trade, said in a statement to SANA's correspondence that the seizures included 11 controls for selling at an extra price, 14 for not announcing the prices, 15 for not having a purchase invoice, and one for possessing materials of unknown origin that do not contain a specification card, in addition to two checkpoints for not giving “bulk” purchase invoices.
An arrest was also organized against one of the bakeries for using the ration bread for other than the intended purpose, and two seizures against two bakeries for offenses related to the sale of catering bread, in addition to an arrest against the Duraiba bakery for tampering with the quantity of bread ties sold through the smart card device, and the offense was brought to the appropriate court in the first place.
A seizure was organized against Al-Arqoub bakery for the lack of weight of bread ties intended for sale. Four food samples and two non-food samples were also taken.
