Whitsunday is of particular importance for the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Planegg-Stockdorf.

And not just as a church festival: Pastor Bernhard Liess said goodbye on this day in 2020, and this year his successor introduces himself.

Würmtal

- Elisabeth Kühn is currently still fighting through moving boxes.

Only at the beginning of the month did the new pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Planegg-Stockdorf move into the rectory on Planegger Karlstrasse.

She will introduce herself to her new parishioners on Pentecost Sunday, May 23rd: During the festive service at 10.30 a.m., Dean Markus Ambrosy will officially take office in the Waldkirche; before that, at 9 a.m., she will hold a service in the Stockdorf Apostle Church.

Due to the limited number of places due to the corona, prior registration is required to participate.

"Take more responsibility"

Elisabeth Kühn studied Protestant theology in Munich and Berlin.

After her vicariate with stations in Lindenberg in Westallgäu and Burghausen as well as parental leave, she started a half-job as a pastor in Markt Schwaben in October 2015.

“Then I wanted to take on more responsibility,” says the 41-year-old, who therefore applied for the pastor's position in Planegg.

Elisabeth Kühn is married and has three daughters aged nine, seven and three years.

Enthusiastic about the architecture of the forest church

Elisabeth Kühn is enthusiastic about her new working environment - especially the architecture of the forest church with the altar in the middle of the octagonal central building.

“You're very close,” says Elisabeth Kühn.

This creates a very special sense of community.

But the Apostle Church also has an impressive aesthetic.

"I am happy to be the pastor of this parish," says Elisabeth Kühn, who succeeds Pastor Bernhard Liess after a year-long vacancy.

He moved to Munich as city dean in September 2020.

With three small children, Elisabeth Kühn has little time for hobbies.

“My free time is manageable.” She likes to be in nature and loves going to museums, said the pastor.

Certain nervousness before the premiere

Elisabeth Kühn admits that she will certainly be nervous about her inauguration. Especially since she is not used to being surrounded by visitors in the octagon of the forest church. She wants to place her sermon under the theme “Unity in Diversity”.
