The police were still in the sea near the airport's three-run construction site this afternoon (24), searching for a mainland man who had smuggled into Hong Kong by speedboat last night and fell into the sea. No discovery has been made yet.

In the case, the police arrested two mainland men and women, of which the man was suspected to be a snakehead.

The incident occurred at 10:49 pm yesterday (23rd) when officers of the Marine Police Squadron were cruising in the waters west of Hong Kong International Airport and discovered a suspicious speedboat entering Hong Kong's waters from the Mainland. The small boat team immediately launched a pursuit.

During the chase, it was reported that there were 2 men and 1 woman on the speedboat. Two of them fell into the sea. The marine police rushed to rescue one man, while the other man did not know what to do.

The marine police also stopped the suspicious speedboat and arrested the woman on board.

Later, the fire boat rushed to the sea to search and rescue the scene. The Flying Service helicopter was also called to circling and search over the sea area at the scene, but no man fell into the sea was found.

The police are investigating the incident.



According to the police, the 35-year-old man from the Mainland who was rescued with the surname Mo was sent to hospital for treatment. After investigation, he was suspected to be a snakehead and was arrested for "illegal entry" and "assisting or abetting others to enter illegally"; and another was arrested. The 34-year-old mainland woman surnamed Mo was arrested for "illegal entry" and was detained by the police for investigation.

The police, fire department, marine department and flight service team continued to search for the missing person at the scene, but no one was found this afternoon.
