According to the information on the Water Supplies Department's website, the total water storage in Hong Kong is about 3% lower than the same period last year.

Some netizens recently walked through Sai Kung's Wangi Reservoir and Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir and found that the water level has dropped significantly, and the land has even been cracked by the sun. Some people commented that the water level was the lowest in recent years, while others believed that the rainfall in Hong Kong had decreased in recent years.

Looking at the Observatory's website, the average rainfall in May in Hong Kong over the past 30 years was 290.6 mm. As of yesterday, the rainfall in May this year was only 30.8 mm. The cumulative rainfall this year is 128.9 mm, which is 383.6 mm less than the average.

According to the Water Supplies Department, as of May 16 this year, the water storage of Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir was 4.195 million cubic meters, accounting for 69.37% of the capacity, while the water storage of the Wangi Reservoir was 165.424 million cubic meters, accounting for the capacity. 58.84%.

At present, Xiachengmen Reservoir has the least water storage capacity, which is only 0.303 million cubic meters, accounting for 7.05% of the capacity.

As of May 17 this year, the total water storage in Hong Kong’s reservoirs was 366.757 million cubic meters, accounting for 62.58% of the total Rongwang, which was about 3 percentage points lower than the 65.69% in the same period last year.

The Observatory predicts that Hong Kong will be generally cloudy from tonight to tomorrow with a few showers, and there will be thunderstorms in some areas tomorrow. It is expected that the heat will continue for the next two or three days, and there will be a few showers. There will be more showers and thunderstorms early next week. It is believed that the reservoir will crack soon. The situation will improve.
