Belarusian ruler Alexander Lukashenko has denied any allegations related to the forced landing of a Ryanair flight and the arrest of a blogger.

The Belta news agency quoted the authoritarian ruling president as saying that it had proceeded in accordance with international law, the aim was to protect people.

Criticizing the Belarusian approach would "cross red lines."

People who are not well-disposed towards Belarus intend to strangle the country.

It was Lukashenko's first public statement on the incident.

The Ryanair plane was forced to land in Minsk on Sunday en route from Greece to Lithuania.
