Since on Tuesday, May 25, the seven-day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants in the Munich district fell below the threshold of 50 for the fifth day in a row.

The district office has therefore applied for various relaxations from the Bavarian Ministry of Health.

The ministry has given its approval to these.

What does that mean for the people in the district?

Retail without an appointment or test

In future, no more appointments need to be booked in advance in retail stores.

Even a negative test certificate does not have to be presented, said the district administration.

Cultural sites without contact data acquisition

Museums, exhibitions, memorials, objects of the Bavarian administration of the state castles, gardens and lakes and comparable cultural sites as well as zoological and botanical gardens can in future also be visited without prior appointment and without entering contact data.

However, an FFP2 mask must be worn when visiting.

School and day care offers

Face-to-face teaching takes place in the primary school classes.

In the other classes, face-to-face lessons are held, provided that the minimum distance of 1.5 meters can be maintained throughout.

Day care centers, day care centers, holiday day care and organized play groups for children can open.

Further easing steps from Thursday

The district office also applied to the Bavarian Ministry of Health for further possible relaxations today.

Outdoor catering without a test

In outdoor catering, people from two households will be able to sit together at one table without a negative test certificate and without having to book an appointment in advance.

Vaccinated and recovered people are not taken into account when determining the number of people and households, according to the district administration.

Tourist offers without a test

Passengers on tourist train or coach transport, as well as participants in city and guest tours, as well as outdoor cultural and nature tours, and bathers in the outdoor areas of medical thermal baths no longer required a negative test certificate.

Cultural and sporting events, cinema, theater without a test

For outdoor cultural and sporting events, in which a maximum of 250 spectators are still allowed to participate, spectators no longer need a negative test certificate from Thursday.

Visitors can also visit theaters, concert halls and cinemas again without a negative corona test.

Sport without a test

In many cases, test certificates are no longer required in sports: For a visit to the outdoor pool, only an appointment is required, but not a negative test.

This rule also applies to fitness studios.

Contact sports and non-contact sports in the open air are possible in groups of up to 25 people and indoor non-contact sports in groups of up to 10 people.

A negative test certificate is no longer necessary.

Vaccinated and recovered people are not taken into account when determining the number of people.


Rehearsals: music and culture

Here everything stays as usual, according to the district office: musical or cultural rehearsals by amateur and amateur ensembles are still allowed.

Further compulsory test for overnight stays

The regulation on the obligation to test for overnight stays in hotels, youth hostels and campsites remains unchanged.

Overnight guests still need a negative test certificate upon arrival and every 48 hours thereafter, the district administration said.

Proof of the test is a POC antigen test carried out no more than 24 hours ago.

Self-tests or PCR tests are also permitted.

Self-tests must be carried out under supervision.

Compulsory tests are not required for fully vaccinated and recovered people.

You must have proof of vaccination or health recovery with you.
