2021-06-04T18:53:28.942Z

INFO LE FIGARO - The Prime Minister will support several candidates of the presidential majority and will participate in a meeting on June 17 in Lyon.

Jean Castex descends into the arena of the countryside. Ten days before the first round of departmental and regional elections, the Prime Minister is mobilizing to support the candidates of the presidential majority. According to our information, the head of government will begin his tour on Wednesday, to appear alongside the deputy La République en Marche Laurent Saint-Martin, head of the list in Île-de-France. The two elected officials will visit the Rungis market together and have lunch in a restaurant on the day of the entry into force of phase 2 of the deconfinement. Jean Castex, who is keen to lend a hand to his ministers in the countryside will then go to New Aquitaine, with Minister Geneviève Darrieussecq, then to Center-Val-de-Loire, alongside Marc Fesneau and in the Grand-Est, Thursday the 17th in the morning,to encourage Secretary of State Brigitte Klinkert. On each trip, the Prime Minister has planned to participate in a symbolic visit and then walk with the head of the list.

Jean Castex will also participate in an outdoor meeting to encourage voters to vote for deputy Bruno Bonnell, head of the list in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The event will take place at the Stade de Gerland in Lyon, on Thursday, June 17, three days before the first round. Supporters will have to present a health pass to come and applaud their champion. A detour through the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region is also under discussion.

The Prime Minister does not plan, conversely, to go to Hauts-de-France, where yet five ministers are in the running, but largely left behind by the President of the Regional Council, Xavier Bertrand, by the National Rally and the left, which presents a united list. No stop either in Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur, where he himself announced the agreement between the candidate Les Républicains Renaud Muselier and the majority.

"We already know who he supports in Paca"

, eludes one of his relatives.

"Jean Castex wants to give priority to regional campaigns which have had a little less coverage and visibility at the national level."

The former mayor of Prades (Pyrénées-Orientales), who has already held a departmental mandate and a regional mandate, wants to highlight in his tour the importance of these levels to implement the economic recovery of the country.

"He wants to solicit the voters so that they go to vote, mobilize the camp of the majority and give importance to this electoral deadline which is not always understood by the French",

adds his entourage. Jean Castex had spoken with each campaign team of the majority, last weekend, to organize these trips.
