Cardinal Reinhard Marx, leader of the Catholic Church in Germany, submitted his resignation to Pope Francis over his handling of the abuse scandal.
Marx is accused of having remained silent, not acting, and concentrating too much on the reputation of the Church instead of listening to the victims.
