A new study conducted by experts from the American University of Washington revealed that giving plasma to corona patients with leukemia can significantly enhance the chances of survival.
The specialized website HealthSite stated that plasma treatment enhances survival in corona patients with leukemia, as corona virus patients with leukemia who received plasma recorded a 48 percent lower chance of death compared to identical patients who did not receive this treatment.
Jeffrey P. Henderson, associate professor of medicine and molecular microbiology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, said: “These findings suggest that convalescent plasma may not only help corona patients with leukemia who have weakened immune systems, but can also help patients those suffering from other diseases.
Plasma therapy is the process in which the blood of people who have recovered from the disease is used to help others, as the US Food and Drug Administration granted “FDI” emergency authorization to treat it in 2020 with high levels of antibodies to treat Corona patients.
