A Chinese virologist who fled to the United States in April 2020 because she feared she would be killed reiterated that the coronavirus was created in a laboratory in China.

Dr

Li Meng-Yan, a

virology specialist at the Hong Kong School of Public Health, said she "clearly assessed" that Covid-19 came from a laboratory linked to the People's Liberation Army.

The virologist, who worked at the Hong Kong University of Public Health, was interviewed by journalist Tucker Carlson of the Fox News network and reiterated the allegations she published last year.

"

The virus came from a laboratory in Wuhan, and was made by the military based on modified bat viruses,

and then spread after being modified," he said in the last hours.

According to her, she began studying the virus in December 2019 from Hong Kong and was in contact with other virologists who were in mainland China and had more information on the subject.

Li-Meng Yan escaped on April 28, 2020 to the United States.

From there he made a terrible complaint about the coronavirus.

“In December 2019 I was secretly recruited by my supervisor, the virologist Leo Poon who works with the WHO for this secret investigation into Wuhan pneumonia. Soon, my work involved Chinese doctors, researchers and even CDC, also civilians gathering information, combined with my knowledge.

I finally discovered that this virus is from a laboratory, ”he

summarized.

In September 2020, the virologist published a 26-page document in Zenodo entitled 'Unusual characteristics of the SARS-CoV-2 genome suggesting sophisticated laboratory modification rather than natural evolution.'

The text is signed by three other scientists

and endorsed by the Rule of Law Society, an organization founded by the Chinese magnate Guo Wengui, exiled for five years in the United States after being accused in China of various crimes, including corruption and sexual abuse.

Li-Meng Yan gave a new interview on Fox News.

To support their theory that the virus was artificially manufactured, scientists rely on

"three lines of evidence."

First, they state that

"the genomic sequence of SARS-CoV-2 is suspiciously similar to that of a bat coronavirus

discovered by military laboratories of the Third Chongqing Military Medical University in China and the Chinese Command's Medicine Research Institute. Nanjing, also in China ".

The second evidence establishes that “the receptor binding motif (RBM) within the Spike protein of SARS-CoV-2, which determines the host specificity of the virus, resembles that of the SARS-CoV of the 2003 epidemic of a suspicious way.

Genomic evidence suggests that RBM was genetically manipulated. "

For the specialist, the Covid-19 comes from a laboratory.

Finally, the scientists explain that "SARS-CoV-2 contains a unique furin cleavage site in its Spike protein, which is known to greatly enhance viral infectivity and cell tropism."

This cleavage site, which "is completely absent in this particular class of naturally occurring coronaviruses," so may "not be the product of natural evolution and may have inserted into the SARS-CoV genome. -2 artificially ".

Bat coronavirus

The main conclusion that Yan and his team draw from their research is that the novel coronavirus that caused the pandemic is "a laboratory product created using the bat coronaviruses ZC45 and / or ZXC21 as a template." "Protein S would have been artificially manipulated, after which the virus acquired the ability to bind to ACE2 and infect human beings", they need to later add that "these transformations have led to the SARS-CoV-2 virus eventually become a highly transmissible pathogen, with hidden appearance, lethal, without clear sequelae and massively disruptive. "In this vein, the authors promise to publish a second part dedicated to" uncovering the spurious nature of the bat coronavirus (Bat-CoV- RaTG13) ".

Specialist Li-Meng Yan again made accusations.

The document even ventures to indicate the "synthetic route" through which the virus would have passed in its alleged manufacturing process.

"We showed that the creation of this type of coronavirus in the laboratory could be completed in approximately six months," he

says.

In the preamble to the document published in 2020, the authors criticize other research published in prestigious scientific journals, such as Nature because "the theory of natural origin, although widely accepted, lacks substantial support" and because of the "signs of conflict of interest" that they show, which detracts from their credibility.

On the other hand,

Yan points out that the lack of information is related to the censorship suffered by scientific publications and peer review:

"The alternative theory that the virus may come from a research laboratory is strictly censored in peer-reviewed scientific journals. However, SARS-CoV-2 shows biological characteristics that are incompatible with a natural zoonotic virus. Genomic, structural, medical evidence and the literature itself strongly contradict the theory of natural origin, "the publication alleges. Hence, this research highlights "the need for independent research on relevant research laboratories."

According to her testimony, Dr. Li feared that if she spoke in China she would be kidnapped, so she decided to flee from Hong Kong to the United States in April.

Yan, now hiding somewhere in the US, claims that the government in the country where she was born is trying to destroy her reputation and accuses the Chinese government of mounting an attack on her on social media in hopes of keeping her quiet.

Li-Meng Yan worked in Hong Kong, but had to flee.

Yan believes his life is in danger.

He fears that he will not be able to return home and lives with the harsh truth that he will probably never see his friends or family there in China again.

Still, she says, the risk is worth it.

"The reason I came to the United States is because I deliver the Covid-19 message of truth," he said.
