It may still not be the great love between the police and the gendarmerie, but the couple works better.
With a lot of diplomacy, the Court of Auditors draws up, in a 172-page report, the assessment of the attachment to the Ministry of the Interior of some 100,000 soldiers of the constabulary, formerly considered primarily as the police of the countryside.

“despite undeniable progress, operational synergies between the security forces remain perfectible”
.

The Court assures us that
“the principle of“ global parity ”has enabled the gendarmes to benefit from the statutory and compensation changes obtained by the police, which has contributed to increasing the wage bill of the gendarmerie by 22% in ten years”.
