The trigger is the takeover of the so-called Schaffner Benefiziatenhaus at Kolpingstrasse 24 by the city of Miesbach.

The building belongs to the church foundation and will go to the district town for the next six decades.

She wants to continue the after-school care center there.

As reported, the continuation of the previous operation had reached its limits there.

There was a demand for a second after-school care group, but the ordinariate had problems with the expansion of the corresponding rooms and with upgrading the fire protection.

As a result, the plan arose for the city to take over the after-school care center and beneficiary house.

But the takeover of the property that housed the Wirbelwind day care center had a catch: the building was initially owned by the church beneficiary foundation, while the property next door at Kolpingstrasse 22b and kindergarten belonged to the local church foundation.

In order to do business with the city, the church foundation had to take over number 24.

This was done in exchange for another church childcare property: Kolpingstrasse 13, which is diagonally across the street.

The beneficiary foundation subsequently took over number 13 and the church foundation number 24. Only after this exchange could the 60-year leasehold contract with the city of 2019/20 be concluded.

But that's not all: In order to be able to swap the property and then directly award it to the city, an independent finance commission in the Archbishop's Office in Munich had to approve due to foundation law requirements.

That is why a holistic concept was necessary that was pastorally, pedagogically and economically coherent.

This is how the church foundation came up with the idea of turning buildings 22b and 24 into a communal “house for children” - with four groups in number 22b and two in 24. The benefit house is currently not in operation due to renovation work.

The after-school care center is outsourced to the middle school.

Kindergarten and crèche are divided between numbers 13 and 22b.
