The district committee has already decided to expand the grammar school in Holzkirchen. Now the Holzkirchen building committee has approved the corresponding application.

- There are currently only four more classrooms planned, reported Sandra Weinmann from the building authority administration. Thanks to the modular construction, the planned building can be expanded to eight classrooms. For this reason, the new school building on the southern part of the property is also being built with a flat roof. This does not correspond to the building regulations. A corresponding exception is advocated here, says Weinmann. The access is secured via Erich-Kästner-Straße, and 20 of the new bicycle parking spaces will be covered, Weinmann continued.
Mayor Christoph Schmid (CSU) welcomed the expansion of the grammar school. “In the past, generations of schoolchildren had to commute to Oberhaching,” he recalled. Fortunately, those times are over. For Wolfgang Huber (SPD), the Holzkirchen grammar school is also a model for success: “We can all be very proud of that,” he said. According to his own statements, Hubert Müller (FWG) “built eight classrooms at once”. He is sure that this will be necessary during the current term of office of the district council and the municipal council.
Robert Wiechmann from the Greens also struck a critical note.
In the course of the discussion of the Holzkirchen sports development plan, it had become clear that there was no gym in the north of the market town.
This will be exacerbated by the expansion of the grammar school.
"Here we have to start negotiations with the district," advised Wiechmann.
Schmid replied that there had already been talks, including with the district treasurer.
“I clearly addressed the subject of the hall,” reported the mayor.
