30 months after the legislature is exhausted, the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, announced this Saturday a major renewal that will affect the composition of the executive he leads.
In total, it renews 7 of the 23 members of the Council of Ministers, and among them is the incorporation of Pilar Llop as Minister of Justice;
the entry of José Manuel Albares as Minister of Foreign Affairs;
Raquel Sánchez as Minister of Transport;
Pilar Alegría as the new Minister of Education and Vocational Training;
Félix Bolaños as Minister of the Presidency;
Isabel Rodríguez as Minister of Territorial Policy and Government spokesperson;
and Diana Morant as Minister of Science and Innovation.

In addition, it changes the competences of two of the current ministers, being that Miquel Iceta will take charge of the Ministry of Culture, while María Jesús Montero will assume the tasks of Public Function together with her responsibility with the Treasury.
Finally, he announced that he will reduce the current four vice presidencies to three.
With this renewal, Sánchez says that he decides to "bring youth and closeness" to the executive to lead the country's recovery after the hard onslaught of the covid-19 pandemic.
A recovery that, according to him, aims to be "social, digital, green and feminist."
Each of these changes will take effect on Monday, when everyone is expected to take up their new position in order to participate in their first meeting of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday.
