Miesbach - The city of Miesbach wants to set up a committee with which the local youth can get involved in city politics.
How this should actually be implemented should be worked out and discussed online on Thursday evening as part of a preparatory meeting with as many young people from the district town as possible, but the interest was fairly clear.
Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller welcomed just eight participants - and the focus was on the child protection association, the leisure and culture cellar (FuKK) and the cultural center for the golden park bench in the Haindlkeller.
For family officer Malin Friese (Greens) and youth officer Christian Mittermaier (CSU), however, this low level of interest is no break in the end: "We introduced ourselves more, but the meeting was still helpful." that the situation is currently pretty difficult anyway.
The reason is once again the corona pandemic, which cut off a lot with the lockdowns.
"That is why it is difficult to get to the youngsters," summarizes Mittermaier.

The result is that the city now wants to rethink the schedule.
"We first have to promote the project more to the young people and make it known," says Mittermaier.
"Breaking it over the knee now makes no sense." The process now has to be continued flexibly.
Kick-off in the youth citizens' meeting
As reported, the wish for a youth parliament was expressed at the youth citizens' meeting.
The city council subsequently supported the plan to set up such a body.
How it should look in concrete terms should now be discussed - also whether one wants a more formal, weightier youth parliament or a looser, less binding youth committee.
More formal or more casual?
“In general, it's about the question: Do the young people determine something themselves or do we specify it as a city,” explains the youth officer.
They wanted to leave the first step to the young people, but maybe it makes sense for the city council to first provide a framework that is not set in stone.
One wants to involve the youth organizations.
Because, according to Mittermaier, one thing is clear for him as well as for Malin Friese and Mayor Braunmiller: “We want to stick with the project.” Talks are to take place over the holidays.
A report to the city council is planned for September.
